Who Are We?
It all starts with a question: Why is there no media platform for Persian-speaking communities in the UK? London is home to several Persian-language broadcasters with global reach, yet none dedicated to the UK-based diaspora. Persian Mix Radio is here to change that.

Persian Mix Radio Becomes the United Kingdom’s First Dedicated Persian-Language Radio Station
Broadcasting on DAB across London and nationwide on SKYQ, Radio Player mobile app and online
London, UK: Persian Mix Radio (PMR), now on air as the first dedicated Persian-language radio station in the United Kingdom. PMR broadcasts 24 hours a day on DAB digital radio across London, and nationwide online and via smart speakers.
Although the UK is home to a large and diverse Persian-speaking population, no broadcast media service previously existed to meet their linguistic and cultural needs. Estimates vary, but according to Iranian officials, around 200,000 Iran-born citizens currently live in the UK. Official UK data shows that more than 130,000 residents identify Persian (Farsi or Dari) as their main language. In addition, more than 60,000 Afghans—including individuals who arrived following the Taliban takeover—now reside in the UK, alongside thousands of Tajik nationals and a steady flow of new arrivals from across the region.
Despite this demographic footprint, the UK has long lacked a dedicated media platform designed to serve, inform, connect and represent Persian-speaking communities—until now.
A New Era for Persian-Language Broadcasting in Britain
Persian Mix Radio aims to fill this enduring gap by becoming a bridge between communities, a trusted source of information, and a cultural home for Persian speakers from Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

PMR’s editorial mission is clear: to deliver good audio—accurate, accessible, culturally relevant and engaging content for Persian-speaking audiences across the UK.
